One of the chief princes is the first of the princes, the greatest among the princes, ἡ κεφαλὴ πάσης ἀρχῆς. Colossians 2:10. Hence in chapter 12:1, he is called that great Prince. Without doubt, He who in chapter 8:25 is called the Prince of princes.
